Addressing Domestic Violence in Immigrant Communities: Critical Issues for Culturally Competent Services (1 Credit Hour)
Program Summary: This course explores the issue of domestic violence in immigrant communities and offers considerations for increasing culturally competent services. Immigrant women are a diverse group and experience domestic violence in many different contexts but they also frequently share common experiences when domestic violence is involved. Issues of immigration status, financial resources, community, family, and social isolation are considered.
